This fall business law students had the opportunity to participate in an educational site visit to
Utica City Court. Judge Giruzzi hosted the students who all asked insightful questions about
working in law. During the visit, students observed several active court proceedings, including
two felony criminal cases, giving them real-world exposure to how the justice system operates.
Students were invited to ask questions throughout the visit and engage in meaningful
discussions about courtroom procedures, legal careers and the responsibilities of the court. The
Court Bailiff also provided an informative tour of the facility, including the holding cells and
multiple courtrooms, allowing students to see behind the scenes of daily court operations.
This experience offered students a broad understanding of the legal process and helped them
connect their classroom learning with real judicial practice.
