Roscoe Conkling Elementary School celebrated a major milestone today, its 100th anniversary! The Centennial Day event honored a century of education, community, and growth.
The celebration took place in the school’s auditorium and featured a special program with guest speakers, alumni reflections, student performances, and remarks from local dignitaries. A historical showcase dedicated to Mr. Louis Parrotta highlighted the school’s legacy. The Conkling Choir stole the show with an original song about Conkling’s history written Mrs. Kennedy to the music of 7 years by Lukas Graham."This is a hundred years old, where children come to learn, get inspired, and become our next leaders." Conkling students ended the program with a presentation of a time capsule to the district.
Students, staff, and alumni were proud to be part of this historic moment and enjoyed coming together to celebrate Roscoe Conkling’s lasting impact on generations of UCSD students!
A special thank you to the Conkling Committee who made todays events so special: Laura McCabe, Amanda Faccioli, and Deanna Kennedy!
